VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help with upcoming Pedlar River Institute Programs!

You can help with an entire day’ s activities or just part. You don t need to be
an expert--just have the willingness to learn and the desire to help a young person
learn, too.

Planting shrubs and perennials in the Watershed Improvement Schoolyard Habitat (WISH) biofilter at Temperance Elementary School in Amherst County. Volunteers needed to help kindergarteners and 4th graders add plants to their schoolyard habitat.

Planting trees to improve riparian buffer on Horseley Creek: volunteers needed to plant saplings and live-stake willow shrubs along Horseley Creek, on the Old Dodd Farm property of New Prospect Baptist Church in Amherst County. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Village Garden Club's Garden Fest at the Amherst Historical Museum in the town of
Amherst. Free trees given to the first 75 people, along with tree protector kits
for each.
