Fifth Grade (Class of 2006)-March 2006
Students reviewed what they know about sound and light during their outing to the Forest Study Site.
They sat on plastic bags, in their own space, and were very quiet as they took notes about what they were hearing.  They answered questions about what they heard: What matter is vibrating to produce this sound? Where is the source of the sound located? How would you describe the sound? How would you describe the pitch of the sound?  As they searched for naturally translucent and opaque materials, students also investigated how natural materials in the Forest Study Site affect the path of light.
